Whatever Happened to Halloween?



Sweet gingerbread "men".

I am longing for the days when Halloween was not an affront to organized religion.  To a time when children roamed the neighborhood in homemade costumes and were delighted by any small token treat they were awarded.  I don't want to see blood-dripping monsters or kids too cool for costumes.  I want to hear "thank yous" and see faces of parents I know escorting their charges through the neighborhood. I don't like "Trunk or Treat" in a parking lot. Yes, not only do I have a terrible cold, I am suffering from severe case of nostalgia.
