Across The Pond

It seems that I've been dwelling on England lately, so I might as well finish the week off with one last look...

There are two film studies/archivists, one in Austin and one in England. The are collaborating on a cookbook that contains recipes from vintage film stars. I heard about this from TWO and just had to be part of the process. What could be more fun than vintage movies and cooking? I have been testing a few recipes for them...of course, all desserts! The recipes are allegedly cooked or baked by the stars, themselves. I have a difficult time visualizing Fred Mac Murray stirring up a chocolate cake, but I guess it could have happened.

I will admit, I am a little jealous. TWO and I had talked forever about doing something similar and just never got around to it. So, the next best thing is to live vicariously through the editors of Silver Screen Suppers. They have a great website: www.silverscreensuppers.com, so check them out.

Since they are just in the recipe testing phase, I will be impatiently waiting for publication.

Toot-a-loo (I think that is a British term for goodbye or maybe I'm getting it confused with the French term for a quick restroom break.)

  1. Thanks for the mention Cece! You are doing an amazing job testing recipes for us - fabulous feedback. Still waiting for the Shirley Temple recipe to arrive via ebay but will be emailing it as soon as it arrives.

Toodle-oo (you were close! Some think that Toodle-oo is a variation on the French "a toute a l'heure") or - if you prefer - Toodle-pip !
